In a small town in Maine, seven children known as The Losers Club come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.
The horror is so over the top in this movie I didn’t find it scary — although there were plenty of people in the cinema who did! The children are excellent in their roles all putting in solid performances, especially Sophia Lillis, who plays Beverley Marsh. She has one of the most demanding roles given the dark subject matter of her fear. The best parts of this movie are those where the children are not actually involved in the scary stuff. Entertaining with a good message about facing fears with the support of friends.
