DisobedienceA woman returns to the community that shunned her for her attraction to a childhood friend. Once back, their passions reignite as they explore the boundaries of faith and sexuality.

A profound, deeply moving story. The two Rachels (Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams) are gripping. The story comes across as authentic. It’s slow moving but never boring. It’s exploration of religion, faith, love, family pressure, and the human yearning for freedom is sensitive and powerful. This could easily have been a sensationalist portrayal but the director, Sebastián Lelio, who recently gave us the excellent A Fantastic Woman, keeps it real and subtle. Very thought-provoking.
