A pair of high-frequency traders go up against their old boss in an effort to make millions in a fiber-optic cable deal.
The plot summary (above) doesn’t sound very exciting, does it? But I actually enjoyed this movie. It’s an intriguing story that moves along well. It feels a bit like a true story (but it isn’t) so, in that sense, it has been expertly directed. It’s a financial thriller and even though some of the concepts that are part of the story are quite complex, I felt the way they were handled actually made them pretty easy to understand. I never felt lost. Jesse Eisenberg and Alexander Skarsgård are great. It’s a good yarn with a sense of humour. Solid storytelling that has the feel of a thriller.
