One of the most authentic-feeling survival movies I’ve seen. Mads Mikkelsen is excellent as the pilot whose plane has crashed and has to fight for his survival. There is almost no dialogue in this movie and Mikkelsen’s ability to show the depth of his character’s pain and suffering is amazing. The way the story unfolds has some genuine surprises. Unlike most Hollywood survival stories, this one is not sensationalised or romanticised. It is easy to believe that what you are seeing on the screen could really happen. (It’s interesting to read some of the online material about how gruelling this movie was to make.) The landscapes are, of course, stunning. Check this one out on the big screen.
