Blood Red Sky (2021)

A woman with a mysterious illness is forced into action when a group of terrorists attempt to hijack a transatlantic overnight flight. To protect her son, she will have to reveal a dark secret and unleash the inner monster she has fought to hide.

Here’s one for vampire horror fans who like a bit (a lot) of blood and gore. It’s a German/UK collaboration which is set in the confines adding to the claustrophobic atmospheric tension that is created when things start to ramp up.
The story starts off slowly as the characters on the plane are introduced and the scene is set. So be patient. The horror will come eventually. And when it does, it is non-stop right until the end.

There’s nothing really original about BLOOD RED SKY except, perhaps, the merging of vampires and terrorists and the familial bond between mother and child, but the production values are on the high side. The relationship between mother and child is well done and both actors do an excellent job of their roles. The special effects and makeup are top notch and the use of the plane as a set is highly effective.

Be warned. This one is not for those who are averse to violence, blood, and gore. If you can handle those, then check it out.
