Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.
GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE is an entertaining but mostly average reboot. The acting is ok — the kids do an excellent job and are central to the story. The pacing is good and the humour entertaining. There are some fun action sequences, and the special effects are exactly what you’d expect in a movie like this. If you’re a Ghostbusters fan, you’ll have an enjoyable time — and, with a bit of parental guidance, I suspect the kids will too. I’d recommend GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE for kids 10+.
(In cinemas in Australia – check your movie guide for your local show times.)
OTHER MOVIES I’VE SEEN:
- LIMBO (2020) ** – interminably long and unbearably boring.
- SCREAM (2022) **½ – popcorny fun.
