Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
Yes, GLASS ONION is superficial. And, yes, GLASS ONION is entertaining. Featuring some of the most iconic actors to grace a screen, this mystery movie will leave you guessing until the end.
Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) leads the talented cast. He’s an intrepid detective who finds himself at a lavish private estate on a Greek island for reasons he can’t explain. Once there, he meets a disparate group of friends who have all been invited by billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) for their yearly reunion. Everyone has secrets they’re hiding and when one of them, unfortunately, turns up dead, everyone is a suspect.
The acting in this movie is excellent; each actor brings their character to life and leaves us wondering who done it! The scenery is beautiful; the Mediterranean coastline of Greece provides a lush backdrop as the movie’s plot unfolds. And a complicated plot it is! We are kept guessing at every turn.
You will need to be patient during the first half of GLASS ONION which is a journey through each character’s secrets and backstories that is a little too slow-paced. It’s in the second half of the movie that we start to get answers as Benoit Blanc begins peeling back the layers of deceit and solving the murder.
Is it better than its standalone prequel, Knives Out? That’s for you to decide. But I think if you’re looking for an entertaining mystery movie, then Glass Onion is a good choice. So, grab some popcorn and get ready to be entertained!
GLASS ONION is only briefly in cinemas and heading to Netflix on December 23. But if you can find it at a cinema near you, it is worth seeing on the big screen.
