MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT (2018)
When an IMF mission ends badly, the world is faced with dire consequences. As Ethan Hunt takes it upon himself to fulfil his original briefing, the CIA begins to question his loyalty and his motives. The IMF team find themselves in a race against time, hunted by assassins while trying to prevent a global catastrophe.
Another excellent episode in the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise. Tom Cruise is incredible with his stunts which are done in real time. He actually learned how to fly a helicopter for the dramatic climactic action sequence. And Cruise seemed more nuanced in his acting this time showing more shades of emotion than he usually does. The story is just as unbelievable as ever, of course. But in FALLOUT we get to see a lot more of things not working out and the IMF team having to respond with creativity rather than always succeeding. There are the usual humorous moments and the action is top-notch from the get-go and doesn’t let up. One of the things I really like about Cruise’s MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movies is that there is almost no CGI. What you see is really happening, making the action very thrilling and suspenseful. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE does what a lot of other series don’t seem to be able to do — and that is to keep the sequels coming while keeping it fresh. Totally worth seeing.
A lot of fun. As the other ones are. Nice review.
Thanks, Dan. I agree with you. They are all great fun!
