OVERLORD (2018)

On the eve of D-Day during World War II, American paratroopers are caught behind enemy lines after their plane crashes on a mission to destroy a German Radio Tower in a small town outside of Normandy. After reaching their target, the paratroopers come to realise that besides fighting off Nazi soldiers, they also must fight against horrifying, bloody, and violent creatures that are a result of a secret Nazi experiment.

I was exhausted after seeing this. From the thrilling opening scenes of soldiers on their way to parachute behind enemy lines, flying through an air fight zone, it never lets up. OVERLORD is surprisingly good. The acting is solid and the story is a hybrid of war, Frankensteinian corpse animation, and zombies packaged in bloody, violent action that earns its R18+ rating. The production values are high with great cinematography and tight direction. A very entertaining story about the horror of war, the evils of the Nazi regime, and with the excitement of a zombie invasion. It’s entertainment with depth.
