Palmer (2021)

After 12 years in prison, former high school football star Eddie Palmer (Justin Timberlake) returns home to put his life back together — and forms an unlikely bond with Sam (Ryder Allen), an outcast boy from a troubled home. But Eddie’s past threatens to ruin his new life and family.

Justin Timberlake and Ryder Allen’s work together on screen make this movie worth watching. It’s a straightforward, predictable narrative, but it has a warm and honest heart as it explores, friendship, compassion, and acceptance. This is Ryder Allen’s debut movie. He was only 8 years old when this movie was released and he’s quite remarkable in this role. Overall, the movie isn’t great, but it is certainly watchable.
