SABAN’S POWER RANGERS

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Given the target audience, POWER RANGERS is ok. Good themes for teens about bullying, friendship, living on the edge of groups, and so on. The effects are good and the acting is competent. All of this makes up for the predictable, cliched, saving the world plot line. One of the worst aspects of this movie is the blatant product placement of a brand of donuts — completely jarring and unethical. Young fans of the Power Ranger franchise will probably enjoy this movie. Suitable for 12+
