Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.

Some of us maybe feeling weary of the endless releases of Marvel movies. But, believe it or not, SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS is a fresh, fun, engaging story that moves along at a great pace. Just about everything about this movie is spot on. The story is exciting, the dialogue is often witty, the characters are unique (some worthy of their own spinoffs!), the special effects are high quality, the martial arts sequences are exhilarating and original, the cinematography is beautiful, and the themes about family, fathers and their sons, the marginalisation of girls in a family, and grief are meaningfully explored.
Even if you haven’t seen other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this one stands alone enough for that not to matter. Its focus is on telling a personal story rather than overly concerning itself with trying to be connect itself to everything in the MCU.
SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS is a beautiful, exciting, entertaining movie with some wonderful characters and cultural representation. Another one to see on the big screen if you can.
