SHAZAM (2019)

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word – SHAZAM. – this streetwise fourteen-year-old foster kid can turn into the grown-up superhero Shazam.

It’s entertaining up to a point. The actors do their job without too much effort. The story is amusing and has some nice digs at the superhero genre. The are some pretty funny moments and the whole thing moves along at a reasonable pace. It could have been shorter. Check it out if you are looking for a bit of fun with some heart.
