SKYSCRAPER (2018)

SkyscraperFramed and on the run, a former FBI agent must save his family from a blazing fire in the world’s tallest building.
Completely unbelievable but with Dwayne Johnson at the helm it is entertaining despite his more serious character. Johnson seems to have carved out a niche for himself as a generous-hearted macho man. He’s likeable and tough and, despite having a prosthetic leg in this story, he can still climb buildings, jump across chasms, knock out enemies, and rescue the family he loves. There’s less humour in this movie than what we usually get with Johnson but every so often we get a “Dad joke” that somehow works. The action is spectacular with some amazing set pieces that you just know are all going to work out ok but you’re on the edge of your seat anyway. There’s no way this is a great movie but it’s hard not to like such ridiculous entertainment. All good fun which is easily forgotten once you leave the cinema.
