  • Monolith: I saw this movie at this year’s Adelaide Film Festival. A brilliant and unique sci-fi thriller about a journalist podcaster, Alice, who is determined to uncover the truth behind a mysterious alien artifact. Her investigation leads her to uncover a vast alien conspiracy, as well as the lies at the heart of her own story. Along the way, Alice must confront powerful forces that will stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden. As she delves deeper into the conspiracy, Alice must question everything she thought she knew and choose between her journalistic integrity and her own safety. This stunning movie is shot in one room with one actor on screen.
  • Hatching: Follows the story of a young gymnast who finds an unusual egg and keeps it warm. When it hatches, an unexpected creature emerges, one that shocks the young girl and her family. The movie follows her journey as she deals with her demanding mother while trying to protect her newfound friend. The young girl must decide between doing what is right and pleasing her mother. Hatching is a suspenseful and thought-provoking movie, which explores themes of family, identity, and the power of secrets. Watch it: streaming on Shudder.
