Well… I enjoyed this episode more than any of the others. It was well paced with lots of actions and represented a suitable climax to the series. At times, the CGI wasn’t quite right (some of the close combat scenes didn’t seem real) but, overall, Peter Jackson shows off the amazing technology that allows us to immerse ourselves in fantasy worlds that would not have been possible just a few years ago. This episode really focuses in on the personal relationships between characters and the heroic loyalty they demonstrate – even if it means dying for friendships. This will definitely satisfy fans of the series.
