Completely unbelievable, action-packed, cheesy, popcorn fun. Jason Statham does his macho thing. Most of the supporting cast are better than Statham in my opinion. The story is pretty much what you’d expect in something like this — big fish attacking people who think they are better than the big fish. There could have been more humour and a more original storyline. But those expectations are probably too high for this genre. The action isn’t too bad and the Meg is pretty spectacular. If popcorn entertainment is what you are after, THE MEG is adequately entertaining.
