What a tragic story. An informative documentary of an amazing singer who descended quickly into a living hell that finally led to her death. Unfortunately, it is way too long and, ironically, the one person missing from this film is Whitney Houston herself. I never felt as though I was really engaging with her and felt as though we were kept at a distance without really exploring what it was like to be Whitney and what motivated her music. The whole film was about what other people thought about her and what was happening to her and was ultimately unmoving. Like so many tragic stories of celebrities, we have to ask whether it is the pariahs that feed of their fame that are to blame for their demise.
