DARK PHOENIX is better than the critics are saying. If you put your feet up, go for the ride, and don’t overthink the plot, it’s quite entertaining — at least, it’s better than the travesty of the last one. I did get a bit annoyed with the clichéd way that superheroes have to “pose” when they are manipulating their powers or levitating. But I suppose that is part of the mythology — along with the special effects. Give this one a go but keep your expectations low.
