X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX (2019)

Dark PhoenixJean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all of humanity.

DARK PHOENIX is better than the critics are saying. If you put your feet up, go for the ride, and don’t overthink the plot, it’s quite entertaining — at least, it’s better than the travesty of the last one. I did get a bit annoyed with the clichéd way that superheroes have to “pose” when they are manipulating their powers or levitating. But I suppose that is part of the mythology — along with the special effects. Give this one a go but keep your expectations low.
